Near Balcombe,, United Kingdom, Europe
The Wings Museum is housed in a large hanger style building in Brantridge Lane situated between Balcombe & Handcross, Sussex. The museum is approximately 12,000 sq ft & the displays are broken down into dedicated subject areas. At the centre of the museum is a complete fuselage from a Douglas C-47 Dakota which visitors can walk inside. This was used during the filming of the TV hit series Band of Brothers.
The only place in Europe where visitors can see aircraft which have been recovered from the Russian front battle fields where they were shot down over 70 years ago. These rare warbirds are displayed in crash dioramas to represent the actual crash sites! Read about the last battles of World War Two fought between the Russians and the Japanese.
