Rare Sports and Race Cars in Hafencity
Since 2008, Automuseum PROTOTYP shows rare sports and racing cars from 70 years of automotive history. On display in the modernized factory building are prototypes, but not only prototypes.
One amazing prototype is the Porsche ancestor Type 64 from 1939. Only three cars of this type were built to participate in a propaganda race from Berlin to Rome. The car on display is one of two surviving cars! They also show other fantastic cars like the Porsche 597 “Jagdwagen”,1958; Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, 1964 and Porsche 356 Gmünd Coupé, 1949.
The exhibition also shows modern racing cars like the Jordan F1 191, which Michael Schumacher drove his first Formula 1 race in 1991, and 2009 Toyota TF110 prototype.
The “Schaudepot” (Car Depot) has different exhibitions, check the home page for the current one.
Check out the Car Inventory link below for some really good images of many more cars they have shown over the years.
If the image is blurry, we are awaiting images from the Museum.
